Learning Objectives:
- Describe the environmental and human health consequences of building materials.
- Discuss the evolution of green building perspectives on building materials including recent refinements to LEED v4, and the inclusion of credits with a focus on disclosure such as MR credit Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Sourcing of Raw Materials in LEED for BD+C and ID+C.
- Explain the intent of LEED v4 credits focused on life-cycle impacts in BD+C and ID+C, such as MR credit Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Environmental Product Declarations.
- Explain how the Health Product Declaration (HPD) can qualify products to contribute under MR credit Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Material Ingredients in LEED v4 for BD+C and ID+C.
